2019 Campion 822 Explorer
This 2019 Campion 822 has twin Yamaha F250 outboards with 350 hours on them. The Apex hull uses 3D woven fiberglass over an XL stringer grid with Corecell sandwich construction and Kevlar reinforcement in the high-load areas, giving it a stiff, dry ride crossing the Strait or running the Gulf Islands in a chop.
The cockpit carries a 30-gallon bait tank, two 36-gallon fish boxes, rod storage down both sides, a downrigger mount, raw water washdown, and a folding bench. Forward, there’s seating for four under a removable Sunbrella enclosure with a tempered glass windshield, which keeps the boat usable into the shoulder season instead of just July and August.
At the helm you’ve got a Garmin 7612, Uniden VHF, and Yamaha’s 6YC control panel running the DEC fly-by-wire rigging, with Lenco trim tabs and power steering. The bow carries an electric windlass and a Lewmar Delta anchor, plus a remote spotlight for coming home after dark.
Below, the wraparound bench converts to a double, and there’s a proper queen aft berth with its own hatch and privacy curtain. Full head with shower. Galley runs a NovaCool fridge, alcohol stove, and microwave. A Webasto diesel heater covers the cold months, and a Xantrex inverter and battery monitor keep track of the house bank at anchor.
It comes on a triple axle trailer with disc brakes on all axles, run off a Hydrastar electric-over-hydraulic actuator.
Whether you’re loading downriggers for a week on the grounds or running the family up to the Gulf Islands for the weekend, the 822 handles both. On its own triple axle trailer, your season isn’t tied to a single ramp or slip.
