Amazing Grace was designed and built in the custom yard of C & C Yachts in Ontario, as one of Canada’s 3 boat team for the 1981, 1983 and 1985 Admiral’s Cup. She was shipped to the U.K. to compete in the races, including each of the Fastnet Races.
Amazing Grace was raced extensively in Ontario before being shipped to Vancouver, B.C. in the mid 90’s to continue her racing career in Pacific waters. When bought by the present owners in February 2007, they undertook a major refit and after 3 months out of the water, she was re-launched with newly painted topsides, refurbished deck and rig.
Amazing Grace has undergone a systematic refit since that point, re-powering, re-wiring, some new sails and systems and the addition of many creature comforts. These include hot water system, shower, main cabin seating, main cabin bunks and new cushions and upholstery down below. On deck dodger is a welcome addition for cruising.
Amazing Grace has been raced extensively by a crew of enthusiastic friends in local club races, the annual Round Saltspring Island regatta, Southern Straits, Swiftsure and both the 2011 and 2013 VanIsle 360 races. She has also cruised the Gulf Islands, Strait of Georgia, Sunshine Coast and Desolation Sound by the Owner and his wife.
Amazing Grace is the epitome of a Racer / Cruiser and has provided the owners a great deal of exciting and fast sailing. She is a very comfortable, fast and unique boat and a very good value.
